Jazz Technique

Jazz

A free-form style of ballet concentrating of speed and transition. Many forms of jazz in theatre and lyrical are taught to teach the emotional and story telling effect. We are proud to offer an exciting program dedicated to defining Jazz dance in its highest form.  From Broadway styles to contemporary, and lyrical, students develop a strong technical base while experiencing a broad range of choreographic styles. Ballet students who are also enrolled in our Jazz and/or Tap programs find that it greatly enhances their range of style, particularly in repertoire that requires strong, sharp movements and clarity of attack.  Professional jazz training also lends a smooth, elegant energy to almost any movement.
